celebration japan 2025 is almost here!

At the time of posting this blog, Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 is just hours away! Read on for where to find some helpful tools, who to follow that’s in Japan, cool fan panels I think you should know about, plus how you can follow along with me and some of my pals!

THE TIME ZOME SPREADSHEET

First, please utilize this spreadsheet that I made of every single panel for all three days! You can see the Japan time zone, and there are tabs along the bottom for pretty much every other time zone that you might be viewing from (if you need one that’s missing, please let me know and I’ll add it). This will help you keep track of what’s going on over at the convention, and even if it’s not shown on the official stream, you can keep an eye out for announcements and generally track what’s going down and when!

#1 TIP FOR FOLLOWING ALONG AT HOME

If you’re following along from a distance, my best advice to you is to head to the Star Wars official YouTube channel, subscribe, and turn on all notifications. This will help alert you if any trailers or teasers are revealed and uploaded for the public! If not YouTube, you could turn on notifications for the Star Wars Instagram and it will serve the same purpose. You’ll be notified of even more announcements and happenings, but there also will be a higher number of notifications.

Speaking of official Star Wars, check out the official YouTube channel on the LIVE tab to see what time the live stream starts where you are! They have the live stream up now with a time for when it’s supposed to start, and you can set a notification for that as well. (As far as I can tell, it does look like the live stream starts AFTER the “Mandalorian & Grogu” panel, so expect that not to be streamed. But remain alert for news and recaps from the ground and a possible trailer drop!)

FORCETIME/INTO A LARGER WORLD LIVE ON YOUTUBE!

If you need some pals to hang out with, head over to my YouTube channel Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 9 PM Eastern! I will be streaming with my producer and host of the ForceTime podcast Travis, and we’ll be joined by a whole bunch of our friends who are also following along at home. We’ll be talking about what’s going on in Japan, speculating, following along as much as we can, generally healing our FOMO by just having a great time and hanging out, celebrating from the other side of the world!

OTHER FOLKS TO FOLLOW BOTH AT HOME & ABROAD

Some of my go-to folks for news, updates, and coverage are Fantha Tracks (through their social media and updates to their site), Jenmarie aka @AnakinAndHisAngel (always keeping us updated on releases and announcements and blogging about her Star Wars adventures), and of course, Star Wars Explained (my favorite up-to-date coverage and currently on the ground in Tokyo). I also recommend checking out the Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 Facebook group, which is overloaded with posts right now but gives you a good idea of what’s happening very much in-the-moment. Almost everyone is posting from Japan though, so beware of FOMO scrolling!

There are so many cool fan presentations on different stages over the weekend, and even if you aren’t in Japan, you might be able to see or hear them on podcasts or YouTube later this month! Make note of those that you wish you could be in the room for and check back to see if recordings of the panels get added to their feeds.

If you ARE in Japan, there’s plenty to check out on the smaller stages! You gotta check out Blast Points, who are hosting a panel on Day 1 about the George Lucas Super Live Adventure and who will be on the Holonet News Stage on Day 2! You can also look out for Talking Bay 94, hosted by Brandon Wainerdi, doing his usual amazing interviews on the Holonet News Stage the morning of Day 2.

There’s also Scotty from Bombadcast, who will be live streaming (!!!) his panel about Midichlorians on Day 1, look out for that! Friends of the Force are also hitting the Holonet News Stage on Day 3, as are Geeky Waffle featuring friend of the Celebration Database Arezou. You can also see MC from What the Force Pod present an incredible sounding panel about mythology in Ahsoka on Day 1, and keep a look out for a panel about women in Star Wars cosplay featuring my pal Isabella Amidala on Day 3.

Other people on the ground in Tokyo to follow on Instagram who will no doubt be posting highlights and fun stuff on their stories:

There’s so many more, I know I’m missing a ton of people!

MY PLAN FOR FOLLOWING ALONG

My current plan for following along is to start checking Instagram around 7 PM Eastern to see what’s going on. Then I’ll be preparing for our stream, which starts at 9 PM Eastern and will go until around 11 PM Eastern (probably, maybe later). Then the following day, I’m going to watch the playback of the official stream on YouTube, as well as getting caught up via Instagram. And repeat! That will be tonight (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday). For Saturday night, it’s all the same but after our stream is finished, I’ll be switching to the official stream and staying up all night until the closing ceremonies (which are almost always shown) and count down to the announcement of the next Celebration’s date and location!

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT HERE ON THE BLOG

The blog will be a bit quiet, so be sure to find me over on Instagram @intoalargerworldproject where I’ll be most active. Then on Sunday you can expect a Japan 2025 wrap up blog post with all the highlights and lots of photos! Also in the works and coming soon, and in depth and highly detailed timeline of the event, from it’s announcement to it’s closing moments. Stay tuned!

The Celebration Database blog (or…me, it’s honestly just me here) sends all of it’s love and good vibes to everyone in Japan! Have an incredible time from beginning to end, send me pictures and videos, and I can’t wait to hear all of your stories and experiences once you get home! May the force be with you ALWAYS!!
